The variation of the external factors is specified by a list of pairs of numbers; the first number is a moment in time, the second number is the value of the factor at that moment. The actual value of the factor is computed at every moment by linear interpolation between the values. The moment 0 is considered to have the baseline value--if not specified otherwise, and the value for the last moment specified is considered to last indefinitely, unchanged.
